Originally from Branford, Connecticut, Jessie is a film director and producer who brings a passion for the visual world to storytelling.
Jessie began her career as a photographer for the Choate News in 2018. After creating long-hidden experimental projects during her teen years, she moved on to developing, photographing, and directing short films in college. Her first short film, When the Old Guy Smiles, solidified her love for both producing and storytelling through moving pictures. That summer, Jessie moved to Paris, France where she attended classes in the esteemed Fémis and produced two more shorts, Violet and The Photo. In the fall of 2023, Jessie raised $15,000 for production to make The Headless Angel. Following the completion of production, Jessie moved to Prague, Czechia, where she attended FAMU and completed her first 16mm project as a DP. The film was titled Scrapes. In 2026, Jessie is taking two projects to the festival circuit— The Headless Angel, and Welcome to the Shitshow, created by Sasha Kudon, a short which she DP’d and edited alongside longtime collaborator. Upcoming projects include, Belladonna, a short film made in co-production with Cherubs Productions, and two features— Sis and Untitled Dream Project— in development.A film production major at Washington University in St. Louis gave Jessie the necessarily skills to continue her film career into life after college. Since 2022, Jessie has worked on over 15 productions with roles ranging from writer/director to director of photography to editor. She always co-produces the work she is a part of. Additionally, Jessie has worked professionally in Film and TV development, first for Coolfire Studios in St. Louis, Missouri, and then for Dynamic Television in Los Angeles, California. Jessie uses her knowledge of developing original stories to aid her producing— whether creating an enticing pitch, attaching talent, or fundraising for her projects.
Jessie continues to practice photography daily. In college, she worked her way up the ranks at WashU’s native Arts Magazine, Armour, from staff photographer to creative director to, eventually, director of Armour Online. With a Photography Minor at the Sam Fox School of Art and Design, Jessie was able to hone in her photographic voice, and has had her work featured in shows such as when the kids grow, displayed in Weitman Gallery. She continues to implement the camera into all that she does.
Jessie combines her love for photography and moving pictures with her love for making shit happen. She hopes to work on a myriad of film projects moving forward as a director and producer, developing a slate of her own and working with industry veterans to create visual magic with a strong emphasis on compelling narrative, production design and cinematography.
